Airfoil Engine AnalysisService: Airfoil Engine Analysis (the "Service") Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE] Last updated: [DATE]
This Privacy Policy explains how [Company Legal Name] ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with the Airfoil Engine Analysis website and application.
We are based in [City, State], United States. By creating an account or using the Service — including the free upload tool — you acknowledge the practices described here.
Please read Section 4 carefully. It describes how we build an aggregate, de-identified dataset from uploaded engine data. This is a core part of how the Service works.
| Topic | Summary |
|---|---|
| What we collect | Your account details, the aircraft you register, the engine data files you upload, limited payment metadata, and basic technical/log data. |
| Engine data files | Subscriber uploads are stored in your account. Anonymous "Try it" uploads are not stored — only a de-identified summary is kept. |
| Payments | Processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number. |
| Aggregate data | Every analyzed flight contributes a de-identified statistical summary (engine type + performance metrics, no identifiers) to a comparison dataset used for benchmarks. |
| Selling data | We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising. |
| Your control | You can access, correct, export, and delete your account data. |
.JPI files), and the flight data decoded from them.We use Stripe to process subscription payments. Payment card details are entered directly with Stripe through its hosted checkout; we do not receive or store card numbers. We store a Stripe customer identifier and your subscription status, plan tier, and renewal/cancellation state.
If you use the free analysis tool without an account, you upload an engine data file and select an engine type so we can show you a sample analysis.
For anonymous uploads, we do not retain the uploaded file beyond the brief processing needed to generate your result, and we do not collect your name, account, or aircraft registration. We retain only a de-identified statistical summary, as described in Section 4.
When you add an aircraft by N-number, we retrieve information about that aircraft from the FAA Aircraft Registry, a public United States government database. This may include make, model, year of manufacture, serial number, and the registered engine. This is public-record information; we use it to pre-fill your aircraft profile.
We use the information described above to:
Legal bases (EEA/UK users). Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service); our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service and to produce aggregate, de-identified benchmarks); your consent where we request it; and compliance with legal obligations.
A central feature of the Service lets you compare your engine's behavior against typical performance for the same engine type. To make that possible:
Because these summaries are de-identified at the point of collection, an individual summary cannot later be located, attributed to you, or removed. Deleting your account removes your identifiable information (Section 6) but does not retroactively remove de-identified summaries already contributed to the comparison dataset.
We commit to maintain and use de-identified information only in de-identified form and not to attempt to re-identify it, except as needed to test that de-identification is effective.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. We share information only in these circumstances:
California "Do Not Sell or Share." We do not "sell" personal information or "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. You do not need to opt out, but you may contact us with any questions.
All users can:
State privacy rights (U.S.). Depending on your state of residence (including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and others), you may have the right to confirm whether we process your personal information; to access, correct, or delete it; to obtain a portable copy; to opt out of certain processing; and to appeal a denial of a request.
EEA/UK rights. If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you may have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [privacy@yourdomain]. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding and will respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), salted password hashing, access controls, and hosting on reputable infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and authorities as required by law.
The Service is operated from the United States, and information we collect is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
The Service is intended for use by adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
The Service may contain links to, or rely on, third-party services such as Stripe. We do not control those third parties, and their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will provide additional notice (for example, by email or an in-app notice). Your continued use of the Service after an update takes effect constitutes acknowledgment of the revised Policy.
